The Blind Date Marco B. S.

It was just a normal day. A normal day in what, to me, can be like paradise at other times at the year. It was winter and on that particular day, the snow and the wind were wilder than normally. When I went up, I could not find my wallet. Normally, that would not bother me, because I am used to forgetting my things, but on this day, I needed it. I was already too late for my upcoming blind date and I did not want to make a fool out of myself already.

I searched up and down, east and west, in and out and I almost gave up on finding my wallet. I yelled “I’m gonna kill you when I find you!” and before I thought about it, I could hear whispering from outside my window. A group of old women were standing out there in the cold weather and was looking curious inside my apartment. I quickly sneaked to the window and drew the curtains closed.

Embarrassed, I was standing behind the curtains, waiting for them to finally walk away. They were not standing on my property, so there was not much more I could do about it than wait. When they finally did, I went outside my door; I was a little late, so I hurried. Before I knew, I was face-down on the ground. I had been slipping about 2-3 meters and now I was laying face-down in my trash. Not the best start on an upcoming date, right? I forgot about being nervous and started to be mad at myself, because I slipped.

I hoped that nobody had seen my accident, so I quickly got up and made my way to my car and drove to the location of my upcoming date. When I arrived there, I parked the car and got out. It was winter, so the concrete was slippery when I walked out of my car, but I managed to stay this time. I went in the restaurant and waited for my date to come. I was quite nervous again because I had not been having the best preparation for the upcoming date. I was looking forward to see her, but not in my state of mind at the time. My friend had been talking good about her, so I was still a little curious about the whole situation.

To kill some time, I went to the bathroom to splash some water in my face – big mistake. When I went up, I could hear a loud crack. I looked down and could not see a thing, but I instantly knew that something was wrong. I felt my trousers and now I knew what had caused the loud crack seconds before.

I ran to the bathroom to make a plan, it was already too late to cancel the date. She could be here any minute, so I was kind of trapped in there. I figured that if I could just sneak to the exit.

I locked myself out of the bathroom and looked around. I wondered why there were so many females in there - I could not find an answer to that question, so I just walked slowly to the door.

When I was almost there, I heard a young female voice yell something at me, but I was too focused to walk through the door in a few seconds, so I just walked past her and closer to the door.

She went after me and poke me on the shoulder, I ran outside the door and I figured that it was time to go home. Silently, I walked the last steps to the exit. When my hand grabbed the door handle,
I heard a female voice say my name again. I thought it was odd to hear a rusty female voice say my name, so I turned around and saw a woman a lot larger than I had expected and a lot larger than my friend had promised me… Let me just say that blind dates is not something I am lucky in
