Falling in Love Again

4 july 2013 . 3:59 p.m
Jessica slammed the door behind her and started crying. Though it was not the first time Daniel had behaved weirdly, but may be this time the limit had been crossed. After dating for couple of years, things changed between the two. Bringing them to wonder... Does love really last forever?
Part 1
Jessica and Daniel have been dating each other for more than two years now. They were college sweethearts. Daniel was the most sought after guy in the college and Jessica was also the hot favorite among the guys. They broke hundreds of hearts when they made their relationship public. They were the best couple in the college - Made For Each Other!

After college, Jessica started her own boutique in New York and Daniel got a high paying job in New York as well. Things seemed perfect, until that day.

Jessica left the boutique early to get dressed up as she was to meet Daniel at the nearby restaurant. It was Friday night and both of them decided to spend time together. It was almost a fortnight since they last met. Jessica was all pepped up.

"What should I wear? I seem to have nothing in my wardrobe!" Jessica started complaining to Mary.

"What is wrong with you? You own the most famous boutique in the neighborhood! Pull out something from the store instead!" Mary also had started to lose her patience.

Mary is Jessica's best friend and her roommate as well. They have been sharing the apartment since they were in college. Jessica had tried three dresses till now and was trying the forth one!

"You are behaving, like it's your first date! Wear anything. You will look pretty. And as it is, you guys are catching up after a fortnight, Danny won't even notice your dress! All he will be interested in is You!"

"I think should be just fine," ignoring what Mary was saying.

Jessica had tried the fourth dress. And by God's grace, she was pretty happy with the way she looked.

"I guess... I will wear this!" It was the same red backless dress that she had worn for her prom.

"Danny had proposed to you at the prom night where you were wearing this gown, isn't it?"

"Yep. This is the same gown. He simply loves it."

With her hair done and the light nude lipstick applied, Jessica was looking stunning.

"All the eyes will be on you dear as soon as you enter the restaurant!"

"Ha ha ha... Thank you Mary." "Gotta go now... Dan will be waiting for me. See ya."

"Wait... Take this jacket! It is cold out there." Mary handed a brown jacket to Jessica that Dan had gifted Jessica on her birthday.

Jessica left the house and reached the restaurant pretty early. She knew Daniel would not have made it to the restaurant as he always had the habit of coming late. So, she was left with no option but to wait. She had already booked the table for both of them.

It was almost an hour, since Jessica had reached. Daniel still hadn't turned up and was not even answering her call, leaving Jessica worried.

Call me honey. I am waiting for you since an hour now! She messaged him. Daniel did not respond to her message as well.

She picked up her purse and left to look out for Daniel.

Part 2
If you were tears in my eyes, I would never cry because I would be scared to lose you!
Jessica reached Daniel's apartment. She ran to the third floor, without waiting for the lift. She opened the door of the apartment. Jessica had a duplicate key set of Daniel's apartment.

There was no one in the house. The house smelled like it was closed for a long time.

Dan had returned from his official tour a couple of days back. Then how come the house is smelling foul? Jessica thought.

Without wasting anymore time, she left for his workplace. His office had shifted to a new location and Jessica wasn't aware of it. It took her an hour to find the exact location.

To add to her misery, Daniel wasn't in his office as well. The security guy informed her that Daniel hadn't turned up in office since his return from California. This only added to her worries.

Left with no option, she returned, back home.

"What! He didn't turn up?" Mary was shocked when Jessica narrated the entire story to her.

"Mary, I am worried. I have no clue, where Dan is? What if something happened to him?"

"And what if he is just fine but is just stuck with some important work!" Though Mary was trying to calm Jessica, she was just as worried.

"Let's call all his friends. May be they might have some clue about Dan," said Jessica, picking up her phone.

They called all of Daniel's friends but to Jessica's surprise, Daniel hadn't been in touch with them since the last two weeks.

"Let's lodge a complaint with the police," Jessica was running out of patience. "This is the only way, we can find Dan!"

"Don't panic dear! Let us wait for another day. Maybe he might call you tomorrow morning." Mary comforted Jessica handing a glass of water. "Here, have water."

"You go and change while I will set the dinner table," saying Mary went into the kitchen. Leaving Jessica all by herself in the room.

Once they had dinner, Mary insisted Jessica to take rest.

"You go to bed. I will clean the kitchen. Don't worry." Mary accompanied Jessica to her room. Giving her a tight hug, said, "Don't worry Jessica. Danny will be fine."

"Good Night darling."

"Good Night." And Jessica finally laid on her bed.

But sleep was miles away from Jessica. Thoughts of Daniel being unwell, meeting with an accident were not allowing her to sleep.

Just when she had fallen asleep, her phone beeped.

Hey Jess, it's me. I am sorry, I couldn't make it to the restaurant today. I am really sorry sweetheart. Will give you a call tomorrow. Bye.

Jessica didn't know how to react. She was happy that Daniel was fine, but at the same time was wondering the reason for his absence.

Finally, she fell asleep happy with the fact at least her Daniel was safe.
